The Transitions Project is an exciting pilot project, funded by Morgan Stanley, aiming to support students transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7 by increasing student awareness of secondary school expectations and developing their resilience to cope with the increased need for independence. We’re working with Year 6 students from Arnhem Wharf Primary School, Cubitt Town Junior School and Harbinger Primary School as they move up to George Green’s School in September.
As part of the project, we’ve been working with current Year 7 George Green’s students within a three-tier mentoring programme. They will be acting as peer mentors to the new Year 7s in September and are being supported in their peer mentor training by their own mentors – volunteers from Morgan Stanley. Next week is the Transitions Project Summer School, which we’re really looking forward to. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all that we do over the next few months!
