At this event volunteers will help students focus on the ‘soft skills’ that they will need in the future such as: leadership, communication, presentation, resilience, negotiation, persuasion, creative thinking and critical thinking.
THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON ZOOM; THE SCHOOL NAME SHOWN IS THE SCHOOL YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH AND IS NOT THE LOCATION.
The Zoom meeting details, along with the event briefing document and guidance, will be emailed to volunteers a few days before the event is due to take place.
This skills workshop features activities to help students think about what 14 – 16 options are right for them. We discuss how different GCSEs and skills are appropriate for different careers, what skills/qualifications the Labour Market look for, and what might influence their choices. Your role will be to join a video call with students, speak about your job and your career journey, and participate in interactive tasks for students to follow during the workshop.
Duration – Approximately one hour (including brief)
You will need to attend a ten minute briefing the day before the event.
Please note: to participate in this event, you must have access to a camera and microphone on your PC or laptop. Volunteers should not use their mobile phone
